The Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court has disqualified Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan for making anti-judicial statements. The High Court declared him ineligible for the post of Prime Minister and dissolved the entire cabinet. The full bench of the High Court sentenced Sardar Tanveer Ilyas until the end of the court hearing while finding him guilty of making statements related to the court.

During the court hearing, the Prime Minister apologized unconditionally for his statements, which were considered contempt of court. The court presented video clips and asked the Prime Minister if he recognized them. He admitted to the clips and apologized for calling court orders a toy.

The court further questioned the Prime Minister on his delay in the case of Quran teachers and his previous record. In response, the Prime Minister assured the court that such mistakes would not be made in the future and promised to refrain from making such media talks.

Following the disqualification, the Election Commission issued a notification to de-notify Sardar Tanveer Ilyas from the Legislative Assembly. The Prime Minister has also resigned from his position and membership of the assembly.

This is the first time in the history of Azad Kashmir that a Prime Minister has been summoned by both High Courts on the same day for making threatening and rude remarks against the judges. The Council of Judges convened an emergency meeting to discuss the matter, and it was decided that the matter could not be ignored as the honor of the judiciary was at stake.

The Supreme Court has also issued a show cause notice to the Prime Minister, citing his past record of making wrong media talks against the courts. The court has warned him to refrain from making such statements in the future.

The disqualification of the Prime Minister by the High Court is a significant development in the political landscape of Azad Kashmir and will have a significant impact on the region’s governance.
