The Election Commission Azad Kashmir has decided to conduct division wise municipal elections in a phased manner keeping in view the current situation of the security forces, Chief Election Commissioner Azad Jammu and Kashmir said.
Municipal elections will be held in Muzaffarabad Division on November 27, Poonch Division on December 3 and Mirpur Division on December 8. Chief Election Commissioner
It is not possible to hold elections on the same day with the present available security forces, however if security forces are provided then elections will be held across Azad Kashmir on a single day as per the schedule already released. Chief Election Commissioner

The provision of security forces is the responsibility of the government, while the Election Commission has completed all its arrangements including the preparation of polling material, polling scheme. Chief Election Commissioner

The provision of security forces is the responsibility of the government and with reference to the security forces, the government has also tried to provide security forces for the elections on the same day, Secretary Election Commission Muhammad Ghazanfar Khan.
The current situation is that there is insufficient force to conduct free, fair and impartial elections in all the districts on a single day, due to which the Election Commission has decided to conduct division-wise phased elections.
