Ogra has approved to increase the price of gas by 74%

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved increasing the price of gas by 74% from July 1, 2022.

Ogra approved 74.42% gas price hike for Sui Northern while 67.75% gas price hike for Sui Southern has been approved.

Ogra has issued a decision on the requests of Sui gas companies to increase the price of gas.

According to Ogra, an increase of Rs 406 28 paise per mmbtu on gas has been approved for Sui Northern. An increase of Rs 469 28 paise per mmbtu on gas has been approved for Sui Southern.

Ogra says that the average price of gas for Sui Northern is Rs 545 89 paise per mmbtu, the new gas price for Sui Northern has been approved to be Rs 952 17 paise per mmbtu.

According to Ogra, the current price of gas for Sui Southern is Rs 692 63 paise. The new price for Sui Southern has been approved to be Rs 1161 91 paise per mmbtu.

This decision of OGRA will be applied from July 2022 after the approval of the federal government. If the federal government does not approve within 40 days, the OGRA decision will be implemented automatically.
