Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Travels to UAE to Offer Condolences on President Sheikh Mohamed’s Brother’s Passing

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has embarked on a one-day visit to the UAE to extend his condolences on the demise of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the brother of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.

Confirmed by Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, the purpose of this visit is for the Prime Minister to express the heartfelt condolences of the Pakistani nation to President Sheikh Mohamed. During his stay in the UAE, Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to hold a meeting with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to offer sympathies on the loss of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and to convey the condolences of the government and people of Pakistan.

Joining the Prime Minister on this trip are the Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. Their presence signifies the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with the UAE and their shared grief during this time of mourning.

Prior to his departure, PM Shehbaz Sharif personally expressed his gratitude to President Sheikh Mohamed during a telephonic conversation. He conveyed his appreciation for the unwavering support provided by the UAE in maintaining economic and financial stability in Pakistan. The Prime Minister also thanked President Sheikh Mohamed for the generous deposits of US$1 billion made in the State Bank of Pakistan, which have been of immense help to the country.

The visit of Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation underscores the close and friendly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, extending beyond political and economic matters to offering support and condolences during moments of sadness.
